After six days of tennis action in the group stages of the ATP Nitto Finals, we take a look back at how the players got on in London.
21-year-old Greek player Stefanos Tsitsipas has impressed many, winning his first two games against Daniil Medvedev and Alexander Zverev, before suffering a narrow loss against number one seed Rafa Nadal in his final group game. He makes it through to the semi-finals.
Roger Federer has also been impressive in this tournament, bouncing back well against Berrettini and Djokovic after losing his opening game to Austrian Dominic Thiem.
Meanwhile, Rafa Nadal’s shock defeat against Alexander Zverev proved to be costly for the number one seed, who suffered an early exit from the competition after Zverev overcame Daniil Medvedev on Friday night to reach the semi-finals. This was a huge shame for the Spanish player, who had fought hard to win his other two group games.
Dominic Thiem was the other man to reach the semi-finals, impressively defeating both Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic and being partly responsible in sending the latter home early.
Daniil Medvedev leaves the competition with his head held high, after performing admirably against Rafa Nadal and taking the game to three sets on Wednesday. Matteo Berrettini also performed well, beating semi-finalist Dominic Thiem in straight sets.
