Novak Djokovic believes himself, Roger Federer, Dominic Thiem and Alexander Zverev can all challenge Rafael Nadal’s dominance on clay, according to a report on the Express.
Nadal and Djokovic just played each other last week, with the Serbian international coming out on top in the Australian Open final.
Nadal has won a record 11 French Open titles and is seemingly unstoppable at Roland Garros.
However, Djokovic believes it won’t be as easy for the Spaniard to win another title in France because of the level of competition.
I have to work on my clay court game a bit more. I need to play better than last season in order to have a shot at the title.
The ultimate challenge there is to win against Nadal. Then you have Thiem and Zverev, Roger, great players that on clay can challenge.
Djokovic is chasing down Federer’s current Grand Slam record of 20, with the Serb currently on 15.
