Nadal admits he’s feeling better than he was a year ago
Rafael Nadal has had a career filled with injuries but he always seems to get back to his best, regardless of how serious the problem is.
As reported on the Tennis World USA, the Spaniard is looking to make a strong return from injury at the Australian Open this month and claims that he is feeling better than he was 12 months ago.
Last year, Nadal was suffering from a knee injury and found it difficult to play competitive tennis, before recovering and improving his form in the clay-court season.
He said:
It’s a completely different situation. Last year had been a very tough end of the year for me. I mean in 2017, I had to pull out from Paris and London, and I had a terrible offseason I didn’t have the chance to practice almost not one day with good conditions with too many problems on the knees.
And this year was not the case. I had the surgery, but after the surgery, I was able to have some good weeks of practice. I have been positive. I feel my body is better than last year.
Nadal is confident that he can challenge with the likes of Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic for the Australian Open title.
