Mike Tyson admits he prefers Djokovic over Federer
Former boxing heavyweight champion Mike Tyson has revealed that his favourite tennis player is Novak Djokovic and he hopes that the Serbian can get back to his best, according to a report on the International Business Times.
Tyson admitted that Roger Federer is the greatest tennis player of all time but he enjoys watching Djokovic the most.
Federer has won 20 Grand Slam titles over the course of his illustrious career and is now taking a break over the clay court season due to fitness worries.
He will return in the summer for Wimbledon and will be hoping to claim back the world number one position from Rafael Nadal, who cemented his position at the top with victory in the Monte Carlo Masters on the weekend.
When speaking about Djokovic and Federer, Tyson said:
It’s fantastic that he [Federer] plays at this level at this age! Now he has stopped [for the clay season]. A good decision, I think. He can afford it. He is the greatest of all time.
He [Djokovic] is my favourite at the moment. If he is okay, I really like to watch him. He played some good matches in Monaco now, it doesn’t look so bad. Luckily he recovered from an elbow injury.
Djokovic has failed to gain any momentum so far in 2018. He was knocked out in the Round of 64 at Indian Wells and the Miami Open, whilst he fell to defeat in the Round of 16 at the Monte Carlo Masters last week.
The Serb will play in the Barcelona Open this week and will be hoping to advance to the later stages of the competition.
