Rafael Nadal’s planned return from injury revealed
According to Rafael Nadal’s uncle Toni Nadal, the world number two is planning to return from injury in time for Spain’s Davis Cup tie against Germany, the Daily Express report.
The quarter-final tie is set to be played in Valencia between the 6th-8th April, on Nadal’s favoured court of clay.
The Spaniard has been out of action after suffering a hip injury at the Australian Open in January.
Nadal then also missed the Mexican Open in Acapulco last month after pulling out just hours before his first round tie was scheduled to take place.
When asked about his nephews potential return and the Davis Cup tie, Toni said:
I spoke with him and his goal is to play it. Obviously, he will see how he is. If he’s recovered, then surely he’ll play.
Nadal’s planned return would be a huge boost for his country in their quarter-final tie, with Valencia set to host it’s first Davis Cup tie in 15 years.
