Caroline Wozniacki beaten by Petra Kvitova in Qatar Open
World number one Caroline Wozniacki suffered a semi-final defeat to Petra Kvitova in the Qatar Open, BBC report.
Kvitova came from a set down to win 3-6 7-6 (7-3) 7-5 to earn her 12th successive win and set up a final against Spain’s Garbine Muguruza, after Simona Halep pulled out of their semi-final with a foot injury.
It looked set to be Wozniacki’s day when the Dane was a set up and a break up in the second set, however, Kvitova took the second set to a tie-break, then won six consecutive points to clinch it 7-3.
The 27-year-old is continuing her comeback following six months out after a knife attack at her home back in 2016.
The Czech who is currently world number 21, seems to be finding top form once again after dumping out Australian Open champion Wozniacki, making it her third win over a top-10 player in the tournament this week.
